hey what's up guys I'm Kim BHD here andwelcome to your first look at Google'sfirst foldable phone it's almost wildthat it's finally here and I got to holdit and play with it for the first timeafter all these months of rumors andhype so the phone is exactly what itsounds like it's a pixel with a foldingscreen on the inside and we are curiousjust waiting to see what it would looklike just because this is the officialGoogle take on what a folding Androidphone would look like so now we've gotit so for a phone like this there'sbasically three categories that matterdesign hardware specs and softwareand I guess also probably price butwe'll get to that at the end becausethat's also important it's an expensivephone but with my like hours of Hands-Ontime with the phone I did get a prettygood sense of all three of these thingsso for Design This is a more compactfolding phone I would say it's in thesame style as the Oppo Find N2 but alittle bigger and a little thinner sothere's a 5.8 inch OLED display on theoutside pretty thin bezels power buttonand fingerprint reader and volumebuttons on the side and there's a prettyfirm hinge that can stop at just aboutany angle to hold the phone open foreasel mode but then this is where itgets interesting Google made a prettybig design choice in the hinge mechanismto put a lot of the parts of the foldingHardware above and below the middleinstead of behind it so that's whatmakes the hinge itself and the entirephone so thin but that also meansthere's extra Hardware now above andbelow the hinge so when you open up thephone yes that means there's a bit morebezel than usual above and below thedisplay now it's a pretty generous 7.6inch display unfolding on the insidehere but I think that it it'll beslightly controversial because peopleare going to freak out about the bezelsthat's like one of the things you cancount on for the internet but honestlylooking at it and using it I'm totallyfine with it like it lets them put anactually good front facing camera andthe bezel on the inside here and itgives you a bit of something to hold onto and rest your thumb when you'reholding the phone open anyway around theback is the camera bar that doesn'tquite span the whole width of the backbut it still looks very pixel Plus onthe side there's an LED flash and amicrophone array and it comes in twocolors basically black and whitehonestly I think it's a pretty goodlooking phone I'm someone who liked thelooks of the older pixels so that fallsright in line with that and I keep goingback to this Oppo Find N2 this is aphone whose form factor I've loved somuch and the pixel is both a littlebigger and a little thinner which isreally interesting and we're gonna haveto see how this thinness trade-off paysoff because that naturally means not somuch battery right so let's we'll get tothe next category let's talk about thenext section of things which is justhardware specs so the story of thehardware here is a it's mostly Flagshipor just short of it so the 5.8 inchdisplay on the outside is a 1080p 120hertz OLED with over 1500 nits Peakbrightness which is great and the 7.6inch OLED on the inside is also 120hertz it's also just over 1440p and this6x5 aspect ratio I think these screensare awesome but then on the insideyou've got tensor G2 which has been inthe pixel for several months now and 12gigs of RAM and then there's a4821 milliamp hour battery inside nowjust for context that's an interestingnumber 4800 that would make it thelargest battery we've ever seen in afoldable but at the same timeuh the pixel 7 Pro has a 5000 milliamphour battery and the same tensor G2 andaverage battery life I think we can sayand so having a smaller battery and amuch bigger brighter screen in thispixel fold does give me some pause aboutbattery life that's that's a question uhthat I have to actually use it to findout and review it but I think alsowireless charging good to see but it'salso kind of slow wired charging 30Watts Max and then with the triplecameras at the back there's actually allnew sensors throughout here which Googlesays are Flagship grade but we'redefinitely going to have to test theseout for the full review but we'relooking at a 48 megapixel main camerathen a 10 megapixel Ultra wide and a 10megapixel 5x telephoto so overall as apackage teetering on Flagship but notcompletely maxed out obviously you knowthe displays I think looked reallyreally good in person super smooth superbright and responsive but there areclearly concerns I think the battery isthe big question in my head which isalways just going to be a combination ofphysical capacity but also softwareoptimizations and so of course softwareis a big part of what makes phone goodespecially in a folding phone becauseit's a phone and also a tablet at thesame time so this pixel fold is going tohave all the pixel stuff you know theGoogle Assistant now playing hold for mematerial U the customizable lookingversion of Android that we've seen inthe pixels that make it the smartestsmartphone in the world and I love allthat but of course on the inside screenwe're talking about basically a tabletand Android tablets let's be real havealways been a little bit lacking in asoftware department so I was curious tosee if there was new stuff here andthere is some stuff to pay attention toso first of all the expected stuff likeside-by-side multitasking feels reallysmooth and intuitive the apps resizehowever you want them but that's not newwhat's new is this dock Behavior at thebottom so you can now long press thatbar at the bottom of Android that'snormally for gestures and it brings up adock of apps which I think I need toplay with more to understand better butI'm gonna guess it's your most recentapps and it's not fully customizable butwe'll see either way you can quicklylaunch and bounce around other apps hereand jump right into split screenmultitasking just like what Samsung didwith the permanent dock on the fold it'sjust this one takes up less space andalso during my time with the phone I wassort of talking with some people onGoogle's team about it and they talked abig game about optimization which I feellike we hear this story a lot butthey've worked with a lot of developerson optimizing tablet versions of theirapps to look good on the pixel foldthey're also launching a tablet so thatshould help both devices and alsothey've updated something like 50 Googleapps to all work on the larger displaywhether that's a column layout or justsomething that takes advantage of theentire display instead of just lookinglike a stretched phone version of theapp so I think good news on the softwareTBD when we test it decent Hardwareoverall and I think a pretty nice designbut then of course we should get to theprice which I mentioned at the beginningI felt like it would kind of overshadowthe whole thing which is how crazy it isbut this phone will cost1799 dollarsis an 1800 phone and 1800 bucks is a lotfor a phone that's at the top of themarket I'm pretty sure that's the exactsame price that Samsung's fold 4launched at but now that's probablydropped in price since it came out so Imean we're this is going to bringcomparisons to every other 1800 foldingphone option so if I'm just guessingfrom my first impressions this is goingto be a tough sell for anyone who isn'tspecifically interested in the pixelsoftware experience which to be fair I'mone of those people I love that but it'sthe same tough cell that the pixel 7 Prowas but at least this was sort ofundercutting some of the most expensivelike Ultra phones out there where thispixel fold is the same price as the mostexpensive best Flagship folding phonesbut all in all very interesting veryinteresting Google's first entry intothe folding phone space definitely getsubscribed to this channel so you cansee the full review when I actually getmy hands on this phone for a longerperiod of time and test it but for nowthat's your first look let me know whatyou think is this gonna be able to sellat this price or is this just anotherone first option in the first gen pilethat people probably shouldn't buy letme know what you thinkthanks for watchingget to the next one peace[Music]foreign
