the skillsthat will not be impacted by the gptsbut at the same time I would be learninghow to leverage these new tools becausethey will without a doubt change the waywe work as programmers in the future youmay not get your dream job of debuggingJava for 12 hours a day but new CuttingEdge jobs will emerge and computerscience graduates will be the ones mostwell positioned to snatch them up andthat brings me to point number two ChadGPT actually isn't that great of aprogram when it comes to things likeleeco questions that have already beensolved it feels like a miracle tool thatcan get the job done faster than anyhuman ever could however it becomes farless impressive when you try to use itexclusively to build a complex systemlike your dream application I recentlytried to build a moderately complex.netapplication but it began to fail whenmultiple moving parts were introducedthat's because large language modelsmostly just regurgitate information fromthe internet in clever ways if theinformation has never been gurgitatedbefore it'll struggle what does scare mea little bit though is the idea of AIexecuting its own code which can be donewith the new chat GPT plugin if therequirements for a problem are welldefined it won't just generate onesolution that might be correct it cangenerate tens of thousands of solutionsand test all of them to figure out whichone is optimal and I do think it'spossible that technology like this willmake writing Source Code by handobsolete in the same way garbagecollectors made memory management codeobsolete for many programmers and that'sa good thing because we'll be able tobuild complex systems with an excavatorinstead of a plastic spoon but the thirdreason you shouldn't be afraid of AI isbecause a lot of it is just marketinghype Sam Altman the CEO of openai alsoran Y combinator and knows how toaccelerate growth using all kinds ofJedi Mind Tricks like he didn't take anyequity in open AI which would easilymake him billions and also warned usthat gpt4 is not as good as it seems butat the same time they release a papertalking about how awesome gpt4 is andhow it's showing Sparks of AGI withoutexposing any important technical detailsabout how it works and talk about how AIregulation is needed ASAP beforeartificial general intelligence emergesand completely takes over Altman hasalso attended Bilderberg whichconspiracy theories speculate is ameeting where powerful people conspireto create a One World Government I meanyou really expect me to believe that SamAltman is building an alternative to manand that's just a coincidence luckilythough conspiracy theorists have neverbeen right about anything ever in myopinion this is all just optics formarketing clearly the hype is hugelybeneficial to open AI it's gone from acompany that only people in Tech newabout a couple years ago to a householdname today with over five percent of theworkforce using chat GPT on a dailybasis they've already become theCoca-Cola of AI without doing anytraditional marketing just becauseopenai doesn't advertise doesn't meanthey're not trying to hype this thing tothe Moon there is clearly a coordinatedproduct release schedule with theirbiggest partner Microsoft last week mychannel is definitely part of the hypeproblem but I blame them for titillatingme so hard with their awesome productsthe fourth reason AI kind of sucks isthat it's making the internet boring nowit's almost impossible to know if asocial media account or image is humancrafted or not like my grandma thoughtthis dripped out image of the
